Landing!
We
have recently completed a small private community on the Big Snowbird River,
one of the best trout fishing rivers in the Eastern U.S.
The Area
Snowbird Landing is located in Graham County in Western North Carolina.
Graham County covers 433 square miles with
 elevation
ranges from 1,177 to 5,560 feet. Two-thirds of the county is National
Forest. It is the home of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Slickrock Creek
Wilderness Area, Snowbird Backcountry Area, Nantahala National Forest, and
borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Appalachian Trail winds
through the county making its trek from Georgia to Maine. Lake Santeetlah's
shoreline is more than 75% National Forest; insurance that it will never be
spoiled by development. Many visitors enjoy the solitude of the lake even on
the busiest of summer weekends. Graham County's trout streams have earned a
national reputation.
Activities in Graham County lean toward outdoor adventures. Hiking,
whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, fly-fishing, lake fishing, boating,
jet skiing, hunting, horseback riding, nature photography, and mountain
biking are some of the more strenuous activities. Others prefer the quiet
restfulness of the forest, waterfalls, mountains, lakes, and streams. Many
motorcyclists and sports car enthusiasts come to ride the Tail of the Dragon
at Deal's Gap and the Cherohala Skyway.

Snowbird Landing
 Our
three acre development is designed for the trout fisherman, in particular,
or the outdoor enthusiast, in general. All infrastructure work has been
completed. The roads have been cleared, a gravel road has been built, five
lots have been field surveyed and the final site plan should be completed in
the next several weeks. Grass and some landscaping is included.
The
site plan is designed for a total of five (5) residential lots of
approximately .6 acres each. Three lots are on the Snowbird River on the
river and two lots have mountain views with river access.

 Snowbird
river has it’s headwaters in the Nantahala Forest. Little and Big Snowbird
creeks join to form the big Snowbird River which, in turn, flows to the
Santeetlah River and Lake. There are no dams or man-made structures along
its route to restrict water flow and the water temperature is suitable for a
trout habitat.
Snowbird Landing is at the wider portion of Big Snowbird River and is 30
foot wide at Snowbird Landing. The location is off SR 143 about ten miles
west of Robbinville. The water is crystal clear and loaded with trout.
